4020 Powershift - Shifting Issue. I have a 1966 4020 Powershift, lot of hours but fairly well taken care of. Shifts into reverse fine ---- when switching to forward it wants to miss. I have to shift back to reverse and then back to forward to get it to hit. Sometimes it will miss again, other times it picks right up like it should.The 2940 was never intended to be a replacement for a 4020. That's the spot the 4040 filled at the time, and it was a fine replacement for a 4020. Hello, While investigating the cause of poor running issues / top end noise on our 4020 we found significant wear in the valve adjuster / pushrod region on some of the cylinders. I had a couple broke off of my 4020 and I used JB weld on them. Make sure the surfaces are clean and I roughed them up with some really coarse sandpaper so that the JB weld had something to bite.
