Bought a few more robots from eBay for parts and got it working again. Almost have two working at the moment just waiting for a cliff sensor which I hope to receive Monday.

Part of the issue might be that when the vacuum is on the fur gets compacted at the back of the bin but when you turn it off it looks more full. I have a shedding dog too and the roomba is not very good at sensing dog hair. The sensor works great for other things. You could try rebooting it while you wait for a response.
